I am a student at the University of Missouri studying marketing, management, and a little bit of everything else that interests me! I love to read and write and take pictures of the beautiful things around me. My favorite courses have been Personal Selling, Management of E-Commerce, Case Analysis and Presentation, and Project Management.
This spring, I will be taking the Project Management Institute’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam. I was recommended for the certification by my professor after excelling in his project management class, and I look forward to implementing my skills as an effective project manager in my future career.
I am a passionate cyclist and a small business entrepreneur. I currently compete on the Mizzou Cycling Team and serve as the team’s Vice President of Sponsorships. Last year, I started my own company, Gentle Gear, selling bike related clothing and merchandise to help put more children in the Columbia, Missouri area on bicycles who could not otherwise afford them. As a League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor, I teach Smart Cycling classes to children and adults, and champion the numerous benefits and opportunities of bicycling.
I am also a proponent of renewable energy projects. After being inspired by members of my community who built and installed their own solar systems, I took it upon myself to learn the science of photovoltaics and attempt my own build. The experiment has been both challenging and enlightening. You can read about the experience on my blog! It is my dream to master the process and sell solar energy to the world. I am currently exploring solar industry sales and marketing positions in India, China, Mexico, and the United States.
Lastly, I am a believer. I believe in justice and equality, and that every person should seek out what is true and right. I believe in the power of human potential, and I work every day to better myself and to better the lives of those around me. I am a believer in the interconnectedness of all things, and I believe that you should always strive to give more to the world than you take.
